The building of my home years ago is what started this business for me. I couldn't find the elements I wanted to "build into" the construction so when my husband suggested we just go over to France and see what we could find I, of course, almost swam there immediately. (rest of the story is in my "about")
Using old doors makes any room feel more important...
These doors are spectacular!! The forged iron hardware, the arch top and design.....what a focal point adding such unique warmth only an antique can achieve. What I Love about this room...
...........the modern sofa contrasting with the rustic table. This is a beautiful example for those of you concerned about mixing rustic with the clean lines of modern upholstered pieces.
..........So often my customers seem so interested in "design rules" and the room above shows how even a "too long" cocktail table works. The table doesn't adhere to the cocktail table to sofa length rule.....so glad the homeowner or designer decided to follow their heart here.....it's perfect!
..........The darker window panels are a great choice as the eye rests there and I love that they are relaxed in style.....
(go to window treatments)
I have received requests for antique doors to use as headboards, a dramatic example here. The drapery panels soften the edges and maybe hide the ends if the mattress didn't line up. I guess they like to read by candlelight! LOL!
A more modern feel with these leather doors as the headboard...
Designers always stress over the exposed TV dilemma...antique shutters to the rescue softening the hard look of our necessary technology! Cover it up with these old beauties ....
Soft linen bedding and rustic headboard.....grain sack pillows add to the organic look....
Antique shutters here are a wonderful backdrop with nice texture and even act as a wall to hang plants and art....
This vignette has one of a pair of antique pine doors available. These can either be mounted to use as folding doors or as attractive room dividers. Artwork looks great with these as a backdrop. H 92 1/2 ....one of each pair measures 46 1/2 when open flat. $925.00 pair
This is showing up all over....the barn door hardware with antique shutters or doors used as sliders. It saves room and would be kind of fun to demonstrate with a room full of people, don't you think. We even have available the kilim ottoman/ table in the picture available below if you would like to recreate the look.
Vintage kilim covered ottoman/ cocktail table on casters from France h 17 w 53 d 31 price $1,950.00
19th century greenish aqua painted doors with terrific iron hardware on both sides. FRANCE h 84 Each w 23 inches Price $1400.00 pair
18th century door from BELGIUM h 68 w 31. $795.00
SUNDAY NIGHT SALE!! This beautiful vintage terracotta planter (h 4 1/2 diam 6") which could be a wonderful container for an orchid or a nice "catch all" piece is up for special sale...originally priced $58.00, on sale for $22.00 to the first person who EMAILS ME.... Buyer pays shipping.
Good luck!
On a side note I was in Manhattan last weekend to see the revival of Evita on Broadway. (it was fantastic, the music so moving, a great escape) We stayed over at the TriBeCa Grand Hotel....huge room, lively night scene but otherwise modern okay as you know I love nice furnishings in a hotel. ANYWAY, as if I am a newbie traveler, I first forgot my small handbag so was out on the town with my big satchel, (ugh!) THEN when I was getting ready for bed noticed I had forgotten my toothbrush THEN the most horrible thing ever to happen to a gal like me......... getting dressed to meet my son on Sunday morning....NO MAKEUP BAG!!!!! Every girl's nightmare. We were in a rush to see him cross the finish line in his race so I spent the entire gorgeous day schnooking around Soho in the raw. Just thought I would share for those of you under the impression I have it altogether. Don't forget to email me with any questions......a sale is running right now in our big store window. Hope to hear from you.....
Warmest regards,
Bonny

Window treatments, SUNDAY NIGHT SALE and website updated!
When the buds start sprouting and you walk outside and hear birds chirping you can understand the saying " a young man's heart turns to thoughts of fancy" .
Nothing like the bright spring sunshine to make you feel rejuvenated and light hearted ......don't you agree? It also reminds me of getting on the window washer's schedule (not so romantic) AND a great time to think of the curtains you have been meaning to order. Many of you are enjoying your ready-made window treatments from the terrific company I represent and I wanted to let you know they have added more color choices. I was surprised when I had a custom size order that the price was still VERY AFFORDABLE. Enjoy the inspiration pictures from my favorite blogs then see the fabrics below. For those of you not close enough to come into the store I will be happy to send you a fabric sample or two.
These linen curtain panels above add texture to the delicate settee. (I can also supply cowhide rugs in every natural and dyed color)
Red silk adds drama to this modern bedroom. The rustic wood adds warmth.....
a nice contrast.
Olive colored silk panels here.....also notice the chairs are painted and table is traditional mahogany which many of you have inherited and stress over thinking you have to purchase mahogany chairs that you don't love.....
Traditional European style with silk....
LOVE this kitchen and the linen panels here...
This picture is the actual silk panel available using the traditional rod pocket....I have these hung in the store using clip rings which is a trendier look...
Above are the many colors available in 100% linen panels, fully lined in cotton.
The 100% Dupioni silk are double lined to give the nice fullness we like. It was very hard to get an accurate photo of the silk colors as the lighting does crazy things with the shine of the silk. The blue is much lighter than it appears above and I feel will be a favorite of yours, just email me for a sample.....
100% Dupioni silk, lined and interlined
50"wide x 96" long-$175.00 ea.

SUNDAY NIGHT SALE AND a special vacation spot!
Hi, Just returned from vacation on the Caribbean island of Antigua and I wanted to share this special destination with you in case you are searching for a getaway. It was everything we were looking for.....quiet and beautiful, attentive staff and good food, crystal blue water. I booked on travelocity and checked trip advisor for comments posted from recent visitors. Checking tripadvisor can drive you crazy as everyone's expectations are different. You sort of ignore some of the negatives especially when there are comments like "we will never return because they kept overcooking my poached eggs." We always look for a few things when we book our yearly winter getaway....direct flights, less than 35 minute drive from the airport and a small resort. Galley Bay has only 98 rooms and cottages and provided us with the escape we needed.... After registering you are driven by golf cart over their lagoon (Rog went fishing) and approach the main building. This is the center of the small complex.....everything is open to the warm breezes.
this was it, everyday....
Most of the rooms are in 2 story cottages. The British plantation style furnishings were new, mattress super comfortable with soft cotton bedding. Window treatments were beautiful linen with gauze sheers underneath. All the spaces were ample sized including the large bathroom and walk in closet. The vaulted ceiling is made from driftwood color local wood. See the ocean out the balcony??....we were steps from the water (all the oceanfront rooms were) and were lulled to sleep listening to the calm surf each night..... Can we pretend the long legged brunette on the balcony is me??
On the lagoon were Tahitian style cottages, the bedrooms were in these huts.
Through an open area was the bathroom which, although beautiful, I felt was kind of odd...Maybe it was for those couples REALLY wanting to feel as though they were on a stranded isle..
shown here is the distance between both bedroom area and bathroom...
each of the cottages had a plunge pool which was very private....lagoon in distance.
the spa was small and lovely....
keeping with the Tahitian style throughout the hotel the few treatment rooms are reached by charming bridges...
the gauze curtains were gently blowing in the island breezes....REALLY!
they, of course, provide couples massages....
this is the small spa pool with tangerine panels (totally on trend)
For your enjoyment.....
I loved the bronze leaf form wall sconces adding to the subtle evening lighting in all the common open areas....there was live music each night.
The resort is on Galley bay on the northwest side of the island....Giorgio Armani's home is at the end of the beach
Beautiful pool.....
towards the end of the beach near the far restaurant guests have been "building" charming towers of coral...
I added the top rock on this one...
The hotel is "all inclusive" with three restaurants. Not club Med buffet style, which was great when I was traveling with kids, but a nice a la carte menu blending the cuisine of the West Indies and Europe offering fresh vegetables, seafood and even lamb for the British crowd. The Ismay restaurant above is the only one of the three where there is an extra charge, which we felt worth the added cost for the special ambiance open to the water.
This wall is constructed of coral.....
The Gaugin restaurant is private dining in thatched cottages two steps from the waters edge......in the evening romantically lit with candlelight....I want to go back!!!
The stucco and timber construction added to the exotic feel....
The cottages and spa have these wonderful twig detail windows....
Subtle details add so much....
These rocking chairs were right off the large open bar where we enjoyed sampling the rum drink of the day....by the end of our stay Rog was offering his own recipe to the charming bartender....
First we would work out together in the small fitness room and would follow it up with a couple of Bloody Mary's ...
The resort also provides equipment for tennis and has bikes for a spin on their nature trail...and croquet
At the entrance to the resort is this wonderful sugar cane mill with large cacti surrounding. Many of these beautiful stone structures are seen across the island since colonization in the early 1600's began it's once thriving sugar cane business. I have to add, I am not surprised they placed the resort's entry at this special antique structure as it naturally adds one of a kind charm and impact setting the mood for your visit. I brought back a couple in case you're interested.....NOT!!
OKAY now for the SUNDAY NIGHT SALE !!!!
I brought these original 19th century herbiers (h 14 1/2, w 13) back from France and had them custom framed. The writing is in French and has charming tapes and descriptions...offered to the first person to EMAIL ME at $95.00 for the pair!
Buyer pays shipping...
GOOD LUCK!!
