A jaw dropping Lakehouse and new arrivals!!

When I opened this email and saw this picture a reader sent my jaw dropped....I kept the photo and, because life has been so busy right now, I have been looking at it daily and dream of being there.  We went to Idaho once on a tiny plane and enjoyed one of our best family vacations river rafting and "camping" on the banks of the Salmon River. Being so far away without cell phone reception or civilization was a REAL vacation.

Imagine having this place to escape to. On this lake in Idaho a happy couple in their seventies are building their dream house..

To make sure the home would always be theirs they scratched their names in the concrete when the foundation was poured.

 The subcontractors on the job...

Well the homeowner saw this spectacular French doorbell on my site and will hang it there. I found it in France years ago and knew someday someone would have a home worthy.

This is a closeup of the top all hand forged. It's almost 5 feet tall!

The gracious homeowner has invited me to come stay in one of their guest houses..look at the geraniums at the entry!

This cabin is a replica of a miners cabin in the Dean forest in England and serves the couple as a hobby shop and guest quarters. A part of this cabin was made from lumber from their own trees. The water wheel was a birthday gift for this lucky woman from her husband and has a waterfall.  The tower was constructed primarily for fire protection.

What a beautiful place and I will check back with them for more pictures in a few months.

The store has been crazy with things going out as soon as they arrive and I'm so happy with the look right now.  Lucite and anything mid century pairs so well with antiques and really is a great way to update your decor right now. What's trending now is anything lucite, glass and funky.  All the vintage lamps I'm bringing in have been flying and lots of accent tables, mirrors and colored glass small items.

This 19th century corner bench covered in a rippled orange velvet has been a big hit.

A new artisan line of iron tables is available both in silver leaf and gold with hand antiqued mirror, $595.00.  A cocktail table and oval shape coming in soon. Turkish silk and cotton pillows, $125.00

LOVE these ebonized 19th century chairs newly covered in citrus green cut velvet. $1950.00 set of 4.  (a cerused games table coming soon) The pair of vintage lucite ripple lamps on the desk are $975.00 pair. The vintage silver metal trunk, $545.00, has a vintage silver metal suitcase on top to make an awesome side table combo.

A genuine signed Noguchi boomerang cocktail table ($1075.00) sits atop a Brazilian cowhide.  One of many cow hides at the store right now $575.00. I love the antique iron grates with mirrored backs.  Light reflects in ripples as you walk past and the bearded keystone above them is from a theater in Rhode Island adding the essential whimsy to your rooms. Vintage pottery lamp on the chest is a great touch....LOVE the form.

A gleaming campaign style desk holds the many modern lamps available right now.

I'm loving the contrast of the mid century lucite next to the 18th century chest currently on sale for $2400.00.
